Compliance & Analysis.
The certificates and calculations agencies and insurers require.
Some survey work exists to satisfy a rule — a floodplain administrator, a building department, a hillside ordinance or an insurer that needs a specific, signed answer. These services produce the certificates and calculations those bodies require: flood elevations, certified structure heights, and slope density for buildable area, each prepared in the format the reviewing authority expects. The goal is simple — clear the requirement instead of getting stuck on it.
Who this is for
- Homeowners whose lender or insurer requires a flood certificate
- Builders whose jurisdiction certifies height during construction
- Owners and developers of hillside parcels
- Architects documenting compliance for sign-off
Common situations
- A flood-insurance premium that looks too high, or a LOMA application
- A height certification required before a roof inspection
- A hillside purchase where buildable area drives the price
- An entitlement application that requires the ordinance calculation

Who asks for this
Compliance & Analysis — common questions
Can an elevation certificate lower my flood insurance?
It can, when the surveyed elevations show the structure sits higher than the mapping assumes. It gives your insurer the data to rate actual risk and is the first step toward a map amendment when justified — it is not a guarantee of a lower premium.
When is a height survey done during construction?
Whenever the jurisdiction requires it — commonly at framing, roof sheathing or final. Some hillside areas require more than one certification.
